Restaurant Impossible!

Robert Irvine and his Restaurant Impossible team, including Taniya Nayak, Tom & Division 9 Design + Construction, just spent 2 days and $10,000 on our little restaurant!

The experience has been phenomenal, and has left us with a delicious new dinner menu and a beautiful new interior.  The menu includes many gluten free appetizers, entrees and desserts.  The design is as beautiful as it is comfortable and trendy.

    We were there for the opening and loved everything about the restaurant. It was our first experience at the Trails. Our wish is that the restaurant will be open for dinner more frequently, but we will be there with a friend this coming Wednesday. Bravo!

    Dear Sirs;
    Heard about the makeover prior to it happening and wanted to wait until the “rush” died down a bit. I have looked at the website a few times now to check out the dinner menu however there is nothing here! The home page has a non-working link on the “Open for Dinner Wed-Thurs 5-9pm.” So as much as we would like to try you out, we will wait until we see what you are offering for dinner. My family has been in the restaurant business and I wondered also why you are not open for dinner on Fri-Sat, especially after all the publicity and makeover? Thank ou for your time.

    Thank you for your comment. We were waiting to post the new dinner menu until we had a few weeks to work out what would stay and what would change. You can expect a menu in the next week. We hope to see you for dinner soon.
    We are only open Wednesday & Thursday evening for many reasons. First, in our past experience with dinner these were our busiest nights. Second, we found that Saturday is date night and many of the young parents in the neighborhood get sitters and go west, or it is sports day/night and people are choosing fast food. Third, Friday is a very competitive evening for a new menu. Lastly, we only had enough staff to open two nights, so we made a choice based on the afore mentioned. We do expect to expand our dinner service to Tues-Friday, but we have not chosen a date for that.

    (Have you thought about an assistant manager to help with the workload and free up you time? I appreciate your desire to maintain boundaries with your family! Also, have you thought about a better trained chef for the evening services?)

    My wife and Ijust noved back to San Diego from a year of living in Louisiana. We got a kick out of watching all these cooking shows about fine dining places in the area that we never noticed. So, as we were watching the actual airing of the show late at night, we googled The Trails. Since my wife was off the next day, we decided it would be our date, since we live in Clairemont area while our boys were in school.
    We can’t believe The Trails was so beautiful! It was surreal because we really felt for the owner and her story with her daughter. I was soooo excited, I ordered two dishes! The pancakes w bacon and scrambled eggs and chicken dumplins! The greeter was warm and friendly, our server was accurate, friendly and funny. And did I mention the food was soooooo good? We are looking forward to attending The Trails for dinner!

    The restaurant turned out awesome and I wish you all the best, I will surely drop in when I visit San Diego
    but there is another issue I Wanted to get with you about, There was a painting on your wall that Robert took down and I never saw it go back up aaacckk !!!
    I so want that painting and I am willing to pay for it, if it is still around and painted by who I think it is, a Gentelman by the name of Gunther Heinzel, my mother in laws Mother use to know him. It was a mountian in the back ground, small lake/pond in the forground and some pine trees and hills on either side and a small cottage center behind the pond. Please get back to me if you can.
